Technology Manager Decommissioning & Waste Management

Location: Europe, Germany, Netherlands

Role description

As a Technical Manager, you’ll develop and manage knowledge and technology in the areas of centrifuge and plant decommissioning, (RA) waste processing and disposal. This means you’ll initiate and execute research, development, and qualification programs in order to ensure safe and economic design and operation of recycling and waste processing facilities and decommissioning processes.

 

Responsibilities
  • Actively promote a pro-active safety culture and perform analysis to create learning from experience
  • Evaluate the performance of existing decommissioning and waste processing technologies and identify Best Practices and in case of deficiencies, initiate, manage, and report on improvement projects and programs.
  • Initiate and steer R&D activities
  • Develop and optimize existing programs and innovate on decommissioning and waste processing technologies to meet future internal and external business requirements.
  • Work in close cooperation with the other senior Technology Managers and the UTD Design Authority, you’ll support the activities within UTD on plant and plant-related systems from a Chemical Engineering perspective.
Essential Skills
  • Masters in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent
  • R&D experience
  • Commercial and business awareness
  • Proficient command of English, good command of German and/or Dutch
  • Stakeholder management
  • Project management skills, in particular, project/program definition, scheduling, and reporting

Education & Experience

Desired Skills:

  • Ideally, experience in Nuclear Decommissioning and/or RA waste processing with a thorough understanding of the nuclear regulatory environment
  • PhD (preferred)
