Role description

Typical activities of the role will include:

  • Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) and System modelling and analysis using Fault Tree/Event Tree techniques and employing models using state-of-art risk assessment software tools, e.g. RiskSpectrum or Isograph.
  • Design and assessment of new plant and modifications to existing plant.
  • Application of Systems Engineering tools and techniques in order to improve operational management processes.
  • Analysis, Optimisation and Re-engineering of operational processes.
  • Integration with specialists in the areas of Ergonomics, Human Factor and Man-Machine Interface Analysis leading to Human Error Probability Assessment, Analysis and Reduction.
  • Support to project planning and project management activities.

Whilst contractually located at CRA offices in either London or Warrington, the post holder must be prepared to undertake site visits of varying duration depending on the needs of each project.

The post holder should hold a current full driving licence and be eligible to apply for any security clearances deemed necessary by CRA clients.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.

Fluent in English Language is essential, and highly competent (ideally fluent) in French (i.e. CEFRL Level B1 or higher) is desirable.

No previous consultancy experience required.
